On Pulmo-Circulatory Dysfunction in Lung Tuberculosis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Recent advances in clinical, radiological and biological investigations have improved the accuracy of diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis. The routine examinations by auscultation and percussion and its completion by rc-ray examination bring forth numerous findings with respect to the extent of the diseases and the anatomo-pathological conditions of tuberculous patients. Repeated blood examinations (sedimentation test, differential count of white blood cells) yield valuable information. Relatively few reports, however, are available about the influence of tuberculosis on the vital function of the lung, i.e. its respiratory efficiency. As functional examinations are of paramount importance in digestive disturbances, in urinary, nervous and many other diseases, the following discussion will show that the respiratory function al,so plays no minor role in pulmonary tuberculosis.

Characterization of a human powered nebulizer compressor for resource poor settings
BACKGROUND Respiratory disease accounts for three of the ten leading causes of death worldwide. Many of these diseases can be treated and diagnosed using a nebulizer. Nebulizers can also be used to safely and efficiently deliver vaccines. Unfortunately, commercially available nebulizers are not designed for use in regions of the world where lung disease is most prevalent: they are electricity-d...
متن کاملClinical Study of Lower-Lung Field Tuberculosis
Background: Lower lung field tuberculosis is atypical presentation of pulmonary tuberculosis which often causes confusion in diagnosis. HIV/AIDS epidemic has considerably increased its incidence. This study was designed to identify the prevalence and different clinical conditions of lung tuberculosis in conjunction with its common clinical and radiological presentations and its treatment. Metho...
متن کاملCauses of family refusal for organ donation in brain-dead cases, A Narrative Review
Introduction: One of the most important barriers to organ transplantation and the consequent mortality of people on the waiting list for transplants in most countries is family refusal. As a result, recognizing the effective factors in family consent will provide a bridge to increase the rate of supply of organs needed for transplantation. Due to the various factors affecting organ donation, in...
متن کاملTNF-α causes reversible in vivo systemic vascular barrier dysfunction via NO-dependent and -independent mechanisms.
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) and nitric oxide (NO) are important vasoactive mediators of septic shock. This study used a well-characterized quantitative permeation method to examine the effect of TNF-α and NO on systemic vascular barrier function in vivo, without confounding endotoxemia, hypotension, or organ damage. Our results showed 1) TNF-α reversibly increased albumin permeation in the sy...

Background: Mycobacterium tuberculosis lipid antigens take part in pathogenicity of the bacterium but the response of monocytes/macrophages to these antigens in tubercu-losis is not well known. Objective: The aim of current investigation was to study the M. tuberculosis lipid antigens in tuberculosis pathogenesis. Methods: In the present study M. tuberculosis lipid antigens were extracted. Mono...
